Chris Hessler, Founder & CEO Born in Peru and comfortable in Spanish, French, and German, Chris is a serial entrepreneur who co-founded and built two successful marketing services companies prior to El Dorado: On Target Media (Inc. #23 in 1992) and Imagitas (which cracked the new-mover market via an innovative partnership with the U.S. Postal Service, generates about $150 million in sales, and was sold to Pitney Bowes for $265 Million). As Imagitas President, Chris secured $50 million in equity financing from Bain Capital, The Carlyle Group, and Geocapital Partners while building a world-class sales and marketing organization. In the process he established long-term relationships with over 100 Fortune 500 advertisers. Chris began his career at Procter & Gamble. He was educated at Dartmouth College including semesters in Spain and Mexico.
David Tanner, President David is an experienced executive with a broad operational background building teams and organizations. Prior to joining El Dorado, David served as European President at Modus Media International, a global supply chain management provider, and held several executive operational and financial roles at Modus. Prior to Modus, David held senior finance positions at Stream International, Allmerica Property & Casualty Companies, and KPMG Peat Marwick. David is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales, attended Kingston Polytechnic (London) and received his MBA from Bentley College.
Nancy Joyce, SVP Hispanic Self Help Nancy possesses broad, cross industry experience bringing new products to market and growing market share, with a successful track record in new industries and new markets both in the U.S. and abroad. Nancy's work experience spans Digitas, DoubleClick, and Apple (Russia). She speaks Spanish, French, Russian, Czech and Slovak. Nancy was educated at Georgetown University School of Languages and Linguistics and the Kellogg Graduate School of Business at Northwestern University.
Paul Paschal, SVP Sales Paul heads up our sales team and possesses deep retail selling experience with Fortune 500 packaged goods manufacturers (including Campbell's Soup, General Mills, and Ralston Purina). In addition, he has sold content products with well known publisher Golden Books. Paul has held senior sales and supply chain roles on Wal-Mart Customer Teams over the last fifteen years, covering international as well as US businesses. Paul was educated at the University of Arkansas.
Carlo Castilla, VP Sales Carlo is a business development and sales professional with a decade of experience in sales, strategy development, account management and event marketing, focused on the U.S. Hispanic market. Bilingual and bicultural, Carlo possesses an uncanny understanding of the U.S. Hispanic mindset. Carlo personally developed the Mexican National Team (soccer) brand to its current state as the most valuable marketing platform in the U.S. Hispanic market. Carlo was educated at William and Mary (BA) and Thunderbird (MBA).
Enrique Shadah, Director of Product Development Enrique has extensive experience in Hispanic start ups, as well as working as business (M&A, Management Consulting) and technical (Engineering Project Management) analyst in the U.S. and Venezuela. He is a native of Venezuela with a degree in mechanical engineering from Universidad Simón Bolívar (Caracas, Venezuela) and he graduated magna cum laude with an MBA from Babson College (Wellesley, MA).
Jeff Cleary, Director of Operations Jeff has over 15 years of experience in operations and has managed a wide gamut of projects while working at Harvard University, and has directed partners such as Quebecor World and RR Donnelley on high profile funding campaigns for many of Harvard’s schools, as well as national marketing efforts for Fortune 500 companies. He was educated at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Bill Worden - Senior Content Developer Bill is a Spanish language specialist with extensive experience in research and teaching. Bill has studied Spanish in Mexico City, Cuernavaca, Madrid and Seville, and taught in Mexico City and Madrid. In addition to his role at El Dorado, Bill is a tenured Professor of Spanish at the University of Alabama and one of the country's foremost experts on Don Quixote. Bill was educated at Dartmouth College (BA, Mathematics); Middlebury College (MA, Spanish); and received his PhD in Hispanic Studies from Brown University.
Lizette Perez, General Counsel A native of Puerto Rico, Lizette is an experienced attorney who has counseled emerging companies in formation, financings, strategic alliances and distribution, licensing and technology transfer transactions. She is a partner at Goodwin Procter LLP, representing venture capital and private equity investors in investment transactions in the U.S. and Latin America. Lizette was educated at the University of Rochester and received her law degree from Boston University School of Law.
